Ever since I moved to Allen Park, I get quite tickled about the way these adorable Italian built homes get decorated during the Holidays, especially at Christmas. It is Christmas Time in my town and your town! And what better way to celebrate than showing you an expression of their Christmas Dreams. You know those homes where you want to slow down and look longer but traffic or life pushes you onward? Or perhaps you can't get out anymore and want to see the lights. Well here's your chance! No, these homes will not be featured on T.V.'s "The Great Christmas Light Fight". They will be homes you would not see otherwise unless you were in this neck of the woods and that makes them unique. I went for heart and some older classic styles than who has the fanciest, smanchiest decor.
Each home featured here has a Christmas vision of joy and light they want to show all those who pass by and I think that deserves to be captured. They were taken mostly in Allen Park though a small number were in Taylor and one from Dearborn, Michigan. There is thoughtfulness and effort put in, you can see it, so in order to delight every passerby and it comes from the heart. No one pays you to do it, instead it cost people their electrical bill. The give back is the joy it brings so that in the darkness of the winter of your life, you can see people want you to have hope, hope for you and me. There are no doubt stories behind some of these illuminations and a reason why they chose what they chose. Reasons we will never know. We are just invited to enjoy them. And there are few things that man does where that is a given. So here is Christmas in my town. There are some real good close ups of old fashioned light up figures from middle to the end. I've been sick several weeks now so some shots I could only do drive-bys and they aren't as clear, but it get's better toward the middle. I chose only homes not businesses as well for that down home feel.
May you hold onto to hope in the new year and may find light in the darkness when you need it in the New Year.
Rudolph and his crew!
Ms. Clause says....have you been good this year?
These 9 pictures are all on the front lawn of one house!
My house. I couldn’t go all out like I wanted to.
Lesson learned: these three little s.o.b.’s only light up and sing under a noise I haven’t yet found loud enough for so I have to jiggle the box to get them to light up. THAT did not jingle my bells. But they are sure are cute when they do light up.
